Jessie Fernando Neyman (4 Sep 1896 – 15 May 1954)

 

     Jessie is the first son of Willie Lawson Neyman and Elnora Haley.  He was born in Arkabutla, Tate County, Mississippi.  He was in the Army for several years, serving as Horseshoer in Supply Company, 155th Infantry, during World War I.  Along the way, he married Golda Mabel Paxton, on 1 May 1924, in Council Bluff, Iowa.  While at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, his first two children were born.  He subsequently moved many times, first to Bellevue, Nebraska, then Bay, Arkansas, followed by Herman, Arkansas, then Kelso, Washington, then finally to Poplar Bluff, Missouri, where he lived till his death.  He died of colon cancer in St. Joseph Hospital, Memphis, TN.  He is buried at Surrett Cemetary, Arkabutla, Mississippi.

     Jesse worked as a barber.  He was married before he married Golda, but no further information is available on this marriage.
